FMVSS No. 126 is a rigorous standard set by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that tests new electronic stability control (ESC) systems by subjecting it to various maneuvers designed to evaluate its effectiveness in preventing loss of control and skidding, including evasive lane-changing maneuvers at highways speeds.
