Quality. These Rear Ring Gear and Pinion Kits are affordable but they are also manufactured with superior quality. The gears are forged from 8620-grade steel. This case-hardened triple alloy steel features a stronger inner core compared to ordinary steel used in OEM equivalents. In addition, the gears are fine-tuned using state-of-the-art machining technologies. This allows the gears to have the prescribed clearances and tolerances for precise rotation and performance.
Reprogram After Gear Change. Whenever you have a change of gear ratio, the speedometer will be thrown off. You will need to recalibrate your computer with a tuner or a recalibrating device to update the speedometer and get the new accurate speed measurements.
Intricate Installation. It’s recommended that you leave the installation of your 9.5 in. Rear Ring Gear and Pinion Kit to professionals. Indeed, special tools and equipment are needed for the job.
Technical Note. Please note that GMC Sierra 4WD models require identical or close to identical gear ratios on the front and rear axle. Engaging the 4WD mode while on mismatched gears could result in damages to drivetrain parts.
