The Rust Buster Fuel Tank Crossmember replaces rusted or damaged crossmembers on GM 1500 series pickups, restoring structural integrity and ensuring secure mounting of the fuel tank to the vehicle frame. This part prevents dangerous exposure of the fuel tank, helping to maintain drivability and vehicle safety, while extending the service life of the truck.
Robust Construction and Appearance. Built from heavy-duty 11 gauge steel that is thicker and more durable than the original factory piece, this crossmember matches the factory bend precisely for a perfect fit. It comes coated with an oil protective layer to prevent oxidation during shipping. Included are all new Grade M14 hardware and a built-in shock mount to enhance durability and performance.
Installation Requirements. Welding to the vehicle frame is required for installation. Minor modification of the end weld plates may be necessary to fit 8-foot long bed models.
