      Video Review & Installation

Justin: If you're looking for one of the wildest, most unique headlights available for your 2006 to 2008 RAM, well, look no further than the Raxiom LED Halo Projectors that we're talking about here today. Now, these DOT approved lights will feature a black housing topped off with a crystal clear lens, along with a slew of modern LED accent lighting, including the halo surrounding those low beam projectors. Price point for the DOT approved for Raxioms will hover right around 250 bucks for the pair. And the install, at least according to the site's gonna get a solid one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter here, taking guys roughly an hour or less to complete from start to finish. But as always hang with me for a bit, we'll walk you through that job later in the video. So, the world of aftermarket headlights is a very diverse place, right? You're gonna find everything from factory style replacements, all the way down the line to something like these bad boys and really everything in between. But make no mistake about it, the Raxiom headlights that we're talking about here today, by far and away some of the wildest headlights I've personally seen for this particular generation RAM. Now, some of you guys might be into that, some of you might really enjoy separating your rig from others on the road through wild modifications like this. Others maybe not so much. And if that is the case, well again cruise back to the site,, check out some of our detailed selection in the headlight category. I think you'll be impressed by the sheer number of options that we currently offer. But with appearance aside, let's get into some of the features here and there is a lot to talk about. First and foremost, these headlights will convert your dated low beam reflector style housing into a more modern projector. Now, not only will this look a whole lot cooler, but thanks to that brighter, more focused beam of light produced by the projector, you can expect slightly better visibility at night as well. Now, the high beam is gonna remain a reflector style housing but they have been kind of resized or reshaped to match the proportions of the rest of the light and I will say they look very good. Now, I do also wanna mention that the Raxioms here include brand new H3 bulbs for your low beams, along with new H1 bulbs for your high beams which is a nice little perk and something that all aftermarket headlights include. But then there is the accent lighting. Dual halos in each light illuminate with a bright white glow, maybe a small touch of blue whenever your parking lights or your headlights have been switched on. And they're really gonna help contribute to that very custom and unique look. Now, those halos aren't alone, they're also going to illuminate with the four bright white LEDs here on the bottom of the headlight, which really spices the package up even more. Again, everything has been sealed behind that bright and clear polycarbonate lens, very durable impact resistant. And I will say despite that crazy wild styling of these headlights, they actually have been given the DOT stamp of approval, which by the way does make them legal for use in all 50 states. But as is tradition now we want to switch gears briefly and show you just what it takes to get these headlights installed on your '06 to '08 RAM at home. And to do so check out our detailed walkthrough and tool breakdown right now.Man: The tools used for this install are a ratchet, a short extension, 10-millimeter socket, wire cutter strippers and crimpers, a heat tool, an assortment of butt connectors and spade connectors, and some thin gauge wire. The first step of this install is gonna be popping open the hood of your truck so that you can gain access to the hardware that hold the headlight into place. You're only gonna need a couple of hand tools to get this job finished and I'm gonna walk you through the whole process. So, let's get started. I'm gonna start off with a 10-millimeter socket on my impact gun but you can use a ratchet, I'm gonna remove the 2 screws in the front of the headlight here. The next step is actually going to be in the wheel well of the truck, there is a small access hole here that you can actually put your 10-millimeter socket with a short extension on your ratchet to remove a 10-millimeter nut that's on the back of the headlight. Now we can pull our headlight assembly out and disconnect our light connections. So, there is a bulb socket that needs to be transferred from the old headlight into the new headlight assembly. Also, if your RAM is not equipped with the third light bulb socket in the back of the factory headlight, you are gonna have to do a little bit of wiring, and that's what these power and ground wires are sticking off the back of the new headlight. But it also does give you the option to plug it in if yours is equipped with that third light socket. These power-up your LED halos and the LED light strip at the bottom of the headlight and we're gonna tap these into our running light circuit. If you do have to do a little bit of wiring for this, you are gonna need some electrical supplies such as these male and the female spade connectors that correspond with it. It's also a good idea maybe to have some butt connectors and a little bit of loose wire. So, I'm just gonna put this male spade connector onto the end of my power and ground wires. And then I'll go over to the truck and start working on tapping into my running light circuit. So, now that I'm over at my truck, I actually have to tap into a couple of wires here on the running light circuit, that's this connector here. I'm gonna be tapping into the center wire of this plug which is a white wire with a yellow tracer as well as the black wire which is gonna be my ground. This is gonna be for my running light, this is the ground, I'll tap into them, strip the wires back a little bit and I'm going to add a female spade connector to connect into for my LED lights and my strips. So, I've got some short pieces of wire that I'm gonna use as my take off wires for my power and ground connections. And I've also got some butt connectors that I'm gonna use to put the wires back together. Now I'm just gonna use my heat gun and I'm going to heat-shrink these connections. So, I've pretty much just wrapped up the wiring. This is basically how it's supposed to look. I have my two female spade connectors that will allow me to plug my LED halos and my light strips into this connection, but it will also allow me to remove it very easily if I should ever have to remove the headlight from the vehicle. So, at this point, we're ready to install our new headlight into place. All I'm gonna do is match up my connections and make sure all my plugs are securely plugged in and then I can install my factory hardware. Now I'll just reinstall the factory bolts with my 10-millimeter socket. And now once again with my 10-millimeter socket and a short extension, I can reinstall the 10-millimeter nut on the back of a headlight. Now you can repeat the same exact process on the other side of the truck. And that's gonna wrap up this review and install of the LED Halo Projector Headlights in Black fitting your 2006 to 2008 Dodge RAM 1500. Thanks for watching, and for all things RAM keep right here at
