Description
Performance Set-Up. The Motive Performance 8.5 in. & 8.625 in. Rear Ring Gear and Pinion Kit with 4.10 Gears describes how many times the drive shaft will rotate in relation to one revolution of the wheel. In this case, one rotation of the wheel will result in the driveshaft completing 4.10 rotations. This means everything when it comes to towing capability or rather ease and gas mileage. Factors that can affect this are such things as putting larger tires and wheels on your vehicle than stock. Larger wheels and tires are going to rotate even less compared to the ratio so engine RPMs will be higher. Knowing this allows you to tweak your GMC Sierra 1500 so that the performance it gives you is the performance you want.
