Description
Performance Set-Up. The ring and pinion gear set ratio in your GMC Sierra 1500 dictates the number of times the drive shaft will rotate in relation to your wheels. In the case of the Motive Performance 8.5 in. & 8.625 in. Rear Ring Gear and Pinion Kit - 2.73 Gears the 2.73 number means that your driveshaft will rotate 2.73 times to get your wheel to rotate once. This ratio is will result in lower RPMs and thus it is excellent for gas mileage, so if you are using your GMC Sierra 1500 for commuting, you will achieve higher miles per gallon than with a higher number gear set.
