How to Install Injen Power-Flow Cold Air Intake w/ Power-Flow Box - Polished on your Silverado

Installation Time

1 hours

Pull the engine cover off the intake manifold.

Unplug the hard vacuum line connected to the air intake resonator box.

Loosen the throttle body clamp located on the air intake duct (A). Loosen the second clamp that connects the air intake duct to the mass air flow sensor (B).

Once both clamps have been loosened at the throttle body and the mass air flow sensor, continue to remove the plastic air intake duct.

depress clip on the electrical harness connector and remove harness from the mass air flow sensor.

Loosen clamp that connects the mass air flow sensor to the air box cleaner. Remove the mass air flow sensor from the air box cleaner.

Pull the entire air box cleaner for the engine compartment.

Press the 11” - 10mm vacuum hose over the vacuum port.

Press the urethane step hose over the throttle body until it butts up against the rim. Once you have adjusted the step hose, continue to tighten the power-band located over the throttle body side.

The three stock grommets will remain in the stock locations. The two grommets shown above will be used in this installation.

Use an allen wrench to loosen the two 65mm bolts shown above.

Once you have loosened and removed both 65mm bolts, continue to align the PowerBox bracket to the Power-Box. Replace both 65mm bolts over the bracket.

The bracket is shown fully installed on the Power-Box .

Press the 4 inch straight hose over the end of the velocity stack, be sure sure use two power-bands. Once you have placed the 4” hose over the velocity stock, continue to tighten the Power-band.

Once you have installed the bracket and 4” hose to the Power-Box, continue to lower the Power-box into the engine compartment and into position. Align and press the two bracket pins into the stock grommets.

Once the pins have been inserted into the grommets, the Power-box should sit firm in place. Make sure that you have tightened the velocity stack clamp.

Press the directional mass air flow sensor into the 4” hose as shown above.

Press the 3 3/4” straight hose over the end of the mass air flow sensor. Use two power-bands on the 3 3/4” hose and tighten the clamp over the sensor.

The 3 3/4” straight hose is now installed and the Power-band over the sensor is tightened.

The electrical sensor harness is now press over the mass air flow sensor.

Lower the cast intake into the engine compartment as shown above. Align the press the lower inlet side into 3 3/4” straight hose.

Prior to inserting the outlet end into the throttle body step hose, press the 11” - 10mm vacuum line over the intake port.

Press the throttle body end into the step hose. The intake rim will butt up against the step hose stop.

align the Power-box end of the intake for best possible fit. Once you have cleared the cast intake from the fan blades and radiator hose, continue to tighten the power-band on the sensor side.

Continue to press the intake end into the step hose and tighten the power-band.

Once you have aligned the entire intake, continue to tighten all nuts, bolts and clamps. Now, press the engine cover back to its original location.

Start your engine and allow the on board computer to adjust to the added volume or air. Listen to the engine and make sure there are no rattles or spikes when idling. Enjoy the added power and performance of the best intake system today.

Congratulations! You have just completed the installation of the Power-flow intake system. Periodically, check the fitment of the entire intake system to avoid damage to the engine and intake system.

You have purchased the Worlds first tuned intake system available anywhere. The Power-Flow intake system features Injen’s patent pending MR Technology used to tune the intake and Power-Flow box. With Power-Flow, calibrating of the MAF sensor is not required because the intake system comes tuned for use. Use only Injen replacement filters. The use of any other filter will change the air/fuel ratio that can cause damage to your engine.

Assembly and disassembly instructions for the Power Box for the purpose of cleaning screens and filter.

Here are the four-m6 x 20mm bolts that will be removed from the velocity stack base located on the corners of the base.

Unbolt the four- m6 x 20mm screws from the velocity stack base located to the center of the base Now separate the base from the velocity stack.

The four m6 x m20 bolts have been removed from the top of the velocity stack,

Pull the velocity stack base with the filter that is attached to the velocity stack.

The velocity stack with filter is now out of the power box body.

Loosen the clamp on the filter neck in order to separate the filter from the velocity stack.

Once you have loosened the filter neck clamp, continue to pull the filter from the velocity stack,

The rectangular pre-filter screen is now slipped out of the channel along the body of the power box.

Here is a group shot of the components that goes into the power-box. The filter and screens can now be cleaned with a simple shop-vac.

1. Upon completion of the installation, reconnect the negative battery terminal before you start the engine.

2. Align the entire intake system for the best possible fit. Once the intake has been properly fitted continue to tighten all nuts, bolts and clamps.

3. Periodically, recheck the alignment of the intake system and make sure there is proper clearance around and along the length of the intake. Failure to follow proper maintenance procedures may cause damage to the intake and will void the warranty.

4. Start the engine and listen carefully for any odd noises, rattles and/or air leaks prior to taking it for a test drive. If any problems arise go back and check the vacuum lines, hoses and clamps that maybe causing leaks or rattles and correct the problem.

5. Check the filter for excessive dirt build up. Clean or replace the filter with an original Injen filter (can be bought on-line at “injenonline.com”). Congratulations! You have just completed the installation of the best intake system sold on the market. Enjoy the added power and performance of your new intake system.
