    Description

    Get More Work and Play Done. When your stock gears aren’t cutting it, it’s time to upgrade to G2 8.25 in. IFS Front Ring Gear and Pinion Kit. This gear set with a 4.88 gear ratio is appropriate for lifted trucks sporting larger wheel diameters. The upgrades would add lower end torque and power off the line for your truck. Conquer steeper inclined trails, tow larger loads, and accelerate faster.

    Exceptionally Durable Aftermarket Gears. The G2 8.25 in. IFS Front Ring Gear and Pinion Kit is an upgrade in quality as well. The gears are forged from a premium-grade 8620 steel. This triple-alloy steel is known to have a stronger core compared to commonly used steel in factory gears. With additional heat-treatment, you get extremely durable gears that could outlast your truck. State-of-the-art machining technology is used on the gears to match the OEM specifications to prevent fit issues. Furthermore, lapped mating surfaces prevent too much friction from occurring. Excessive friction is often the cause of gears breaking down and causing axle noise.

    Re-programming Recommended. Remember that changing gear ratio would mean updating your truck’s computer. Get accurate speedometer readings with a handheld tuner (sold separately).

    Installation for Professionals. It’s recommended that you leave the installation of your new G2 8.25 in. IFS Front Ring Gear and Pinion Kit to your trusted mechanic. Since special tools and equipment are required, it’s better to have it done in a professional shop. With professional installation, you prevent damages and preserve your warranty.

    10-Year G2 Warranty. G2 warrants that the G2 8.25 in. IFS Front Ring Gear and Pinion Kit is free from factory defects for 10 years. This covers defects in material and workmanship but excludes damages from normal wear and incidentals. A full list of exclusions are listed on the manufacturer’s website.

    Technical Note.  GMC Sierra 4WD models require matching gear rations on the front and rear axles. Driving on a 4WD with different RPMs could lead to serious damage to your truck’s components such as the drive shafts, transmission, and gearbox
