They are forged from 8620 first run steel for strength and then computer monitored through the heat tempering process to ensure the perfect temper for the best strength.       Installation Notes. Installing or replacing the front end ring and pinion gear set is an involved endeavor and should not be undertaken by a novice mechanic. The repair/replacement requires proper tools and equipment and should only be done if you are comfortable and familiar with work of this type.
