Hey, guys, it's Joe from AmericanTrucks and today we're gonna be taking a closer look at the Barricade Pioneer Aluminum Running Boards, fitting all '19 and newer RAM 1500s with a Crew Cab. Now, these are gonna be a great option for you if you're looking for an easier way to get in and out of your truck with a budget-friendly set of running boards. So, diving into the Pioneer Running Boards, we're gonna start off with what these are made out of and that is heavy duty aluminum. That is tough yet lightweight and it sports that brush finish which looks right at home on the side of our '19 RAM and it even matches the chrome accents here pretty well. Definitely looks like this could have been a factory option from Dodge. All in all, these are going to give you about four and a quarter inches worth of flat area to plant your foot on there. We also have a non slip step pad which runs pretty much the entire length of the running board to make sure you don't slip off in wet or muddy conditions. Now, if I do have one gripe about these, these pads are made out of plastic. Now, that's not to say they're gonna crack as soon as you use them, they're definitely designed to be abused. However, it's more of an area of improvement for Barricade and, in fact, I think that's excusable because of my next point and that is gonna be price. These are one of the most budget-friendly sets of running boards we have on the website coming in right around 400 bucks for the pair. If you're looking to spend the least amount of money to get the most amount of step area possible when getting in and out of your RAM, these are gonna be a good bet. While some side steps out there are cheaper, this is gonna give you a lot more room to plant your foot when getting in and out of your truck, definitely well worth the money. Now before we move on to the install here, I did just wanna make a quick note. This is only intended to fit on the 5th generation of RAM. So, that's 2019 5th gen and newer. Any 4th gen RAMs such as the 2019 Classic this will not fit with. Now, as far as the install goes, this is gonna be really really easy mainly because this brand new RAM has studs pre-installed from the factory all the way along the underneath a bit which makes putting mounting brackets on really, really easy. I'm gonna give it a one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. At most I think this will take me an hour or two with nothing but hand tools in the driveway. So, without any further ado, let me show you what tools you need and how it's done. Tools required for this install are going to include a ratchet, 10-millimeter socket, 13-millimeter socket, 10-millimeter wrench, and if your truck has never had running boards on it before, you also need to bring along a wire brush. So, here we are underneath of our '19 RAM and you can see this is gonna be really easy. There's pre-installed studs all the way along the length of this thing. They're perfect for sidestep mounting brackets. However, Dodge does paint over them from the factory. So, it will probably be a good idea to grab a wire brush, clean up the threads a little bit so you have no problems with the 13-millimeter nuts we're gonna use to tighten our bracket to the truck. These brackets are also not side-specific so you can grab any one of the six, put it up on the studs and tighten it down. So, that's it for the front position, we're gonna do the same exact thing for the middle and rear positions as well. And again, 13-millimeter sockets to tighten these nuts down also. These mounting brackets are slotted, so if you need a little bit of adjustment, you can always come back later, loosen this up, do what you need and then tighten it back down. And here's the rear position, we're gonna do the same exact thing. Now, all that is left for us to do is grab a sidestep and tighten it down to the mounting brackets with the rest of the hardware. You do wanna make sure you have the right side though as these are driver and passenger specific. Ours came out of the box in color-coded bags, green bag for the driver side, which is this one, clear bag for the passenger side. Also, you can tell by the spacing on the step pad here. It's out of frame right now but the leading edge should make a triangle out of the step pad shapes. You will see what that looks like in just a second here. So, we're gonna throw this up on our mounting brackets. After that, we're gonna take these bolts with the square head, we're just gonna get those started in these two channels here. We're gonna put three bolts in each one. And then we're just gonna work those forward and situate them into our mounting brackets. So, we're just gonna lift up on the sidestep, we're gonna pass two of these bolts forward and then we could slide the last one in the bracket itself like that. Then , we can come in with the flat washer, lock washer, and the smaller 10-millimeter nut. And I'm just gonna leave that finger tight for now. We're gonna get the rest of our hardware situated then we can make an adjustment to our sidestep and tighten this down. For the middle bracket, same idea, we're just gonna work in those studs and then get that started with the 10-millimeter hardware. We're gonna do the same thing for the front bracket as well. Now, we can make any adjustments and tighten down these nuts. You can get the ratchet in for this one at the front, however, this one at the rear is probably gonna require the wrench. We're gonna do the same exact thing for the middle and we're gonna wrap this up with the rear bracket. The install is gonna be the same exact thing for the other side. But that's gonna do it for my review and install of the Barricade Pioneer Aluminum Running Boards fitting all '19 and newer RAM 1500s with a Crew Cab.
