Simple installation for anyone.
Hey, guys. It's Sara with americantrucks.com. And today, we have a review and install of the WeatherTech No-Drill Front and Rear Mud Flaps in Black, fitting your ''09 through '18 Ram 1500s. These are perfect for the Ram owner who wants to add some style and protection to their truck without breaking the bank. These mud flaps are laser measured to contour perfectly from your truck and are crafted from a thermoplastic resin with a sleek black finish. So as far as price goes, these come in at around $100 making them a nice budget-friendly way to add some style and protection to your truck. I'm giving this install a very easy one out of three wrenches. This does not require drilling or removing the tires in most models and can be done within 20 minutes. So with that said, let's jump right into our install. For this install, you will need a ratchet, a quarter-inch socket, a 7-millimeter socket and the included T20 and T30 Torx bits. All right. So we're gonna start our install at the front. We're on the passenger side of the truck, so make sure you're grabbing the proper side, they are side specific, it should say RH or LH on the back of the mud flap. Before it can install it, we do need to remove this plastic trim piece here. We're gonna start with the two 8-millimeter bolts on the inside. Grab your 8-millimeter socket and let's get these out. Now there is a small plastic pushpin on the bottom here, it's not there on our truck but if it is on your truck you do need to remove it from underneath here. All right, so now that your trim piece is removed, we can install our mud flap. Make sure this area is nice and clean before you get it installed, and they've also included some protective film if you'd like to install that over your paint before the mud flap. Line up your mud flap on the truck. And once you have it on there, you may see a little space up top. You may need one of these spacers depending on the model of your truck. They've included three different types of spacers and on our truck, the eighth-inch spacer works best, it's gonna go in the bottom section here, so get that lined up first. Now with the spacer, you can see the nice fitment right here to the front fender, that's what we're looking for. You may need to test out several sizes to get the one that is right for your truck. Grab your 8-millimeter socket and tighten these down. All right, at this point, we're moving onto the rear, grab your 8-millimeter socket and get the two bolts out in the wheel well. All right, so you do need to remove two additional plastic rivets on the bottom here, and WeatherTech has included a Torx bit to do this. Ours are missing so we can just remove this plastic piece now. All right, now we can install your mud flap. Again, you want to make sure this area is clean and you can use the protective film if you like. Make sure you're grabbing the right-hand mud flap and you have your spacer here if your truck requires one. If you're not sure if it does, I would just measure up the mud flap, see if it's sitting a little weird, and then you can always use a spacer just you get the perfect fitment to the back here. Go ahead and reinstall your bolts. Grab your 8-millimeter socket and tighten them down. All right, so that's gonna do it for the review and install of our WeatherTech No-Drill Front and Rear Mud Flaps. Work well but check the box before installing
These flaps fit my 2019 Ram Classic well. Yes, my truck profile says 09-18, but the 19 Classic is more like the 18, than the new style 19. They install easily, but while they are "no drill flaps" I put an extra bolt in them to have them be really stable, which of course required drilling. They would probably work fine without it, but I felt like they'd hold up longer with 3 points of connection. I almost returned them because they seemed to not fit at all, but what I realized was that I was trying to install the rear flaps on the front wheel wells. Once I read the label on the box, they fit like they were intended to. Decent product at a decent price.Helpful (0)

Exact fit. Works great!
These mud flaps fit exactly right on truck with factory wheel well extensions. No drilling required. That being said, I did choose to drill a single additional hole on each flap so that I could use a screw to tie the inboard edge to the plastic wheel well cover. This keeps the flaps from "flapping".Helpful (2)

Great Mud Flaps
Looks good, easy install, they matched up with the body perfectly. The plastic is solid on these, I do not expect any issues in the future of cracking.Helpful (2)

Will these flaps fit with factory installed running boards on a 2018 Ram?
This would work with factory running boards yes.
Do these work with the factory fender flares?
Factory Running Boards that are within 2 inches of the front wheel well, may not fit properly with the MudFlaps, however otherwise you should experience no fitment issues on an otherwise stock application.
Will these flaps allow for the factory plastic spat pieces to remain in place at the bottom of each wheel well? Or will they need to be removed?
You will not need to remove anything when you install these, so you should be good to go!
Can one install wheel flares with the mud flaps??
We have not yet test fit this item with wheel flares at this time and would be unable to confirm fitment.
If step rail is exactly 2 inches from wheel well, is there any possibility this product will fit? Hate to buy it and be stuck with something that will not work.
With 2" of clearance to the back of the front wheel well, you should not experience any clearance issues.
