Carli SPEC Leveling Backcountry Shock Package

The Carli SPEC Leveling Backcountry Shock Package is designed for those seeking improved on-road ride quality and off-road performance in their heavy-duty truck, while maintaining everyday usability.

This package is ideal for drivers who want to gain additional capability on dirt and gravel roads without sacrificing the factory ride characteristics that make their truck comfortable on the highway.

These shocks are tuned to be slightly softer on-road compared to the Pintop system, while delivering impressive off-road capability for a 2.0" shock. The tuning is designed to pair with Carli 2.5" front springs and factory rear leaf springs.

Through over 20 years in the business, Carli Suspension has developed its reputation by pairing its engineered components with complementary products built to its own strict specifications. Extensive testing and real-world evaluation have created a deep knowledge base, allowing Carli to refine shock design, tuning, and performance to meet demanding applications.

After working with multiple manufacturers and evaluating different approaches to piston, valving, and shim stack design, Carli developed a more stringent set of standards— resulting in a higher quality, better-performing shock platform.

Construction:

Both Internal Reservoir (IFP) and Remote Reservoir variants share the same premium construction. The shock body is made from 6063 aluminum for excellent heat dissipation and long service life, and is anodized for corrosion resistance. A 5/8" hardened and chrome-plated steel shaft is paired with premium 5WT oil to provide consistent damping performance across a wide temperature range.

Special attention has been given to the stem-top bushings. Rather than using polyurethane, Carli specifies rubber bushings similar to the proven Bilstein design, offering improved durability and performance under the forces experienced in this application.

The rod ends are constructed from 6061 billet aluminum and feature a high-quality one-piece bushing along with zinc-plated crush sleeves for precise fitment and long-term durability.

The cylinder end cap is uniquely designed to overlap the shock body, providing external support to the internal snap ring. This is especially important as the shock acts as a travel limiter on vehicles without radius arms and limit straps, ensuring durability under full extension load.
