Description
High Performance Transmission Package. The BD Power 48RE Transmission and Converter Package with Stage 4 Stock Shaft, ProForce Converter, and Tapshifter includes a $2500 core charge and offers a matched, dyno-tested transmission and torque converter designed to handle demanding diesel power and torque. This package is ideal for towing, street, or track use, providing enhanced durability and reliable performance under heavy load conditions.
Construction and Appearance. The transmission features an upgraded valvebody and governor components, with roller Torrington bearings replacing stock bushings to increase longevity. It includes a rigid aluminum heavy-duty pan with heat-dissipating fins and a magnetic drain plug, adding extra fluid capacity and improved cooling. The torque converter is equipped with torque-multiplying cast aluminum stators, a stamp-forged steel front cover, and furnace-brazed fins for durability and efficiency.
Installation. Installation requires approximately 7 hours and 30 minutes and includes sensor swapping and cooler flushing. No drilling is required for the swap. This is a comprehensive process best suited for experienced technicians.
Warranty. This package includes a 36-month/150,000-mile parts warranty and a 12-month/24,000-mile labor warranty. It is not warranted for race or sled pull use.
Application. Specifically designed to fit 05-07 4WD 5.9L RAM 3500 models without modifications or exclusions.
