Description
High Performance Transmission. The BD Power Towmaster 4R100 Transmission and Converter Package, including an $1800 Core Charge, is engineered to enhance drivetrain durability and improve shifting performance for demanding applications. It is designed to perform reliably under high torque and power conditions, suitable for heavy towing, street driving, or track use.
Construction and Appearance. This transmission features a BD aluminum heavy-duty deep pan that increases oil capacity by 6 quarts. The package includes a fully rollerized geartrain, machined center support, a reworked front pump, and upgraded components such as an OD snap ring and enhanced clutch packs. The torque converter uses torque multiplying cast aluminum stators, equipped with a stamp-forged steel front cover and furnace-brazed fins for improved heat dissipation and operational efficiency.
Installation. Installation requires moderate mechanical knowledge and typically takes about 7 hours to complete. No drilling is necessary for installation; however, note that on Excursion models, the factory transmission pan must be retained to avoid interference.
Warranty. The package includes a 36-month/150,000-mile parts warranty and a 12-month/24,000-mile labor warranty. Race abuse is excluded from the warranty coverage.
Application. This transmission package is specifically designed to fit the 1999-2003 2WD 7.3L Powerstroke F-350 Super Duty without PTO provision. Be aware of fitment limitations for Excursion models.
