Description
Transmission and Converter Package. The BD Power Roadmaster 6R140 transmission and torque converter package is designed to upgrade stock, non-modified trucks for enhanced reliability and durability. This package combines OEM clutch counts and a brand-new OEM valve body with BD’s performance components to deliver improved clutch holding power and pressure control specifically optimized for conditions involving high boost pressure. It ensures smoother operation and dependable torque management, making it ideal for both street driving and towing applications.
Construction and Appearance. The transmission includes a BD deep sump pan to optimize fluid capacity and cooling. The torque converter features a dual surface clutch assembly and a machined steel reaction ring that replaces the flexible factory stamping for increased durability. Furnace-brazed pump and turbine fins provide enhanced longevity and performance. The entire unit is fully remanufactured to meet or exceed original equipment manufacturer specifications.
Installation. Installation requires moderate mechanical skills and takes approximately 12 hours to complete. A Ford scanner is essential to update the Transmission Control Module (TCM) with the new solenoid code and perform the necessary relearn procedure, which is critical for proper transmission operation. No drilling or major custom modifications are required.
Warranty. The package is covered by a 24-month parts warranty and a 12-month labor warranty. Note that race abuse is excluded from coverage under this warranty.
Application. This transmission and converter package fits 2017 to 2019 Ford F-350 Super Duty trucks equipped with the 6.7L Powerstroke engine. It is compatible with both 2WD and 4WD configurations; however, 2WD installations require transferring the yoke adapter and rear mount bracket from the existing component.
