Description
Superior Transmission Package. The BD Power 6R140 Transmission and Converter Package is designed as a matched set, meticulously dyno tested to guarantee maximum performance and reliability. This package is ideal for heavy-duty towing, street driving, or track use, providing stronger clutches and a newly designed valve body to efficiently handle increased power and torque demands.
Construction and Appearance. The transmission features a significantly higher number of clutch plates than stock, incorporating custom patented pressure plates that maintain strength while increasing clutch count. The torque converter includes a dual surface clutch assembly, furnace-brazed pump and turbine fins, and a machined steel reaction ring replacing the flexible factory component. The unit is fully remanufactured with an emphasis on durability and long service life.
Installation. Installation complexity is moderate and requires approximately 12 hours to complete. It necessitates the use of a Ford scanner to update and relearn the transmission control module (TCM) for the new solenoid code, ensuring proper operation without drilling or major modifications. Additionally, 2WD models require the transfer of the yoke adapter and rear mount bracket. Early 2011 vehicles will require a 6-bolt flexplate during installation.
Warranty. This package includes a 36-month/150,000-mile warranty on parts and a 12-month/24,000-mile warranty on labor, excluding coverage for race abuse.
Application. Specifically designed to fit 2011 through 2016 4WD 6.7L Powerstroke F-350 Super Duty models. The product remains emissions legal across all 50 states.
