Hey, guys. Joe from AmericanTrucks, and today we're gonna be working with the BAK Industries BAKFlip G2 Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover, fitting all '19 and newer Ram 1500s. This is gonna be the perfect option for any Ram owner out there looking for a high-quality and secure tonneau cover, and they don't mind paying a little bit of extra money to get a tonneau cover that does it all.So, what do we have here with the BAKFlip G2? Well, this thing is made out of mostly aluminum. That's great, it's lightweight and durable. It's finished in that awesome textured black gloss which really adds to the looks here. I think this thing looks great on the back of our brand new Ram here. This thing is nice and low profile. So this is going to be a great option if you're looking to maintain the looks of your truck with a tonneau cover that looks like it could have come on the Ram from the factory. I like the design of this one as well. You can really roll this thing up and down with some speed. So, I'm gonna show you how quick this thing can roll up and down. To get it up first, we're gonna start by lowering the tailgate here. That'll give us access to this cord. This is to release the clips that hold it in place. And each one of these has one of those cords, so you can basically decide how far you wanna roll this up and down, and we're just gonna work our way all the way back. Now, once you have this thing unrolled, you get not only a nice weathertight seal with those rubber seals here, but also this thing has a nice water management system that basically routes water underneath the bed of your truck. I'm gonna show you how that works in just a second during the install here. Now, one great thing about a hard-fold tonneau cover like this one, it's going to provide you a little bit more security than the regular old vinyl tonneau covers would. All it takes to get through something like that is just a simple pocket knife. These hard aluminum panels are gonna be a lot tougher to get through for sure. And you're not going to be able to just take this thing off. Once you have this shut and the tailgate locked, there's no way to remove this thing. So, again, if you plan on carrying anything of value in the bed of your truck regularly, this is gonna be something that you definitely want to protect your stuff. Now, another great feature here is, this pretty much allows you to have this folded up to whatever position you want. If you're in a hurry here, you don't need to fold this all the way up. Each panel has its own lock as you saw me demonstrate earlier, so that's a nice little bit of convenience there. So, as far as pricing goes for this one, as you can tell, I'm a pretty big fan of the G2 here. This thing can do no wrong in my opinion, no faults with this whatsoever. Really high build quality, security from not only weather but would-be-thieves as well. This is a great option. Pricing is going to come in right around that $900 mark. That is gonna be a little bit on the expensive side, but for a tonneau cover that does it all, it's got to set foot somewhere, right? But this is definitely a great choice. Like I said earlier, it's even American-made and backed with a two-year limited lifetime warranty. So, install for this is going to be extremely easy. No drilling, no cutting to get this installed on your truck, completely reversible. Definitely a one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter here. It should take you at most half an hour to an hour to get this installed on your truck. So without any further ado, let me show you what tools you'll need and how it's done.Tools required for this install are going to be an impact or ratchet, 14-millimeter socket, a knife to trim up some weatherstripping, and a Phillips head screwdriver. So, the first step to our install here is going to be an easy one. We're just going to apply this bulkhead seal which comes in the kit. We're gonna peel away that adhesive backing and apply this right along the rear window right here. They do give you a little bit extra here, so I'm just gonna use the knife to trim that to size. The next step here, we're gonna clamp our bed rails to the truck. Now, you wanna make sure these are oriented properly. This little strut down here should be toward the inside of the bed. And you want this little metal plate right here to be up at the bulkhead and in toward the bed as well. Once we get this lined up, we're gonna clamp it down with these clamps included in the kit, they tighten up with a 14-millimeter socket. And again, there's three clamps on either side, we're just gonna put this one down here about 6 inches in from the tailgate. And you wanna make sure the teeth up there get a nice, good bite, and then you can tighten down this nut, again, this is a 14-millimeter. We're gonna put one right in the middle as well and about 6 inches from the bulkhead.Next, we're gonna hop over to the other side and do the same exact thing. So we're gonna do the rear, and then we're gonna come to the middle here. Now, you might have to drop this strut out of the way to get to this one, to get right in the middle, but once you do, same exact thing. And we're gonna follow it up with the one up by the bulkhead. So, now we have both side rails situated. You can go ahead and throw up your tonneau cover. A couple of things to note here about the orientation, you wanna make sure that these buckles are facing up, and that this little panel is toward the cab. Now that we have this basically on the truck just resting for now, we're going to do a little bit of install to these two pre-drilled holes right here on this small panel. We're going to install this latch catch with some of the included Phillips head screws. So what we're gonna do first is install a couple of these pre-threaded inserts. They come through the back here, like so. Now we can take the catch itself, and I'm just gonna get two Phillips head screws that come included in the kit started in those threaded inserts. And then same thing goes for the other Phillips head screw as well. So, now that's installed, we're gonna go over to the other side and do the same exact thing. And we're gonna start by installing those threaded inserts. Then we're going to grab the latch. And you wanna make sure the opening is facing down, and we can tighten that in. So, now we're just gonna drop that top panel through, and as you can see, this bolt right here is where we're gonna be going to with that thumbscrew. We're just going to reinstall all of our washers first, and then install that thumbscrew. Now you can do the same thing for the other side. So, for the other side, we're just gonna drop that bolt down through, then we can install our washers again, and get this thumbscrew started as well. Now, before you lock these down, you wanna make sure this is aligned properly, and then you can come back and give this some solid turns. Now, while we're here, it's a perfect time to install these drain hoses as well. This nipple right here is basically a water runoff. This hose is gonna go from there into this hole right here, and basically lead water out of the bed and make sure it stays nice and dry in here with the cargo. And what I'm actually gonna do first is push that hose through, and then come up and install that on the Ram. And same thing goes for the other side. So, now the tonneau cover is pretty much installed. One last thing we have to do, these little rubber bumpers here are going to help when you're rolling this up. This bar right here has a tendency to rest against the rear glass. These are gonna get installed just to help protect that a little bit, and so you can rest it up there while you're folding this up. So, to wrap this thing up, we're just gonna unfold it here and, again, you should hear these panels click into place. And this last one here, you just wanna make sure the tailgate is shut first because this is going to close on the top of it. And that one should click in too.But that's gonna do it for my review and install of the BAK Industries BAKFlip G2 Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover, fitting all '19 and newer Ram 1500s. Thank you for watching.
