Noah: Noah here for AmericanTrucks and we're back checking out these LED Halo Projector Headlights with Black Housings and Clear Lenses for the 2009 to 2018 RAM 1500 with the Factory Halogen Non-Projector Headlights. These headlights are going to be perfect for a RAM owner that wants a headlight upgrade with a bright daytime running light design coming from a few halos. So we've got LED daytime running lights that are meant to make your truck more visible to others on the road. And then when you pair that with the projector style headlights that cast it being focused farther than spread wide. And these things should be seriously bright in low-light driving conditions like dusk, or rain, or even snow. Probably the biggest draw to these headlights are going to be those halos around the projector here at the top, and then the reflector at the bottom. Then we have a black housing to give the whole headlight overall a darker and more modern look, and then a clear lens so there isn't any light restriction like you'd get with a smoke lens. Overall, just a modern design that boasts an OEM fit with improved lighting brightness. As far as construction goes, we do have a polypropylene housing with a polycarbonate lens. These guys are going to be resilient to road debris, moisture, heat, you name it. And then on the inside, those projector lenses are designed to intensify the light beam and to make the most of your halogen bulbs. These headlights are designed to use the factory-style bulbs just like the original headlight would. So it's not a bad idea to pick up a set of LED bulbs from our site to throw in these guys right away as well, if you're looking for maximum brightness. And while you have the headlights off, it's really easy to change the bulbs. So it's better to do it now rather than later. Now the LED halos actually have a 100,000-hour runtime and they're designed to be really bright as well as last a long time. Now overall, these are really well constructed in the grand scheme of aftermarket lighting. These headlights are going to cost you around $480, and that makes them one of the most affordable options in terms of aftermarket headlights with halos and projectors for your RAM on our site. Now, probably the main reason for these being at a lower price point is the fact that they don't come with LED bulbs out of the box and that usually makes or breaks the pricing of a headlight upgrade.Installing this set of headlights on your RAM will take you about an hour to do with the difficulty at one out of three wrenches. These guys will be an easy job for any DIYer experienced to first-timers. Now there is a little bit of wire involved, but you're in luck because we're going to show you how to do it. Let's head over to the install bay and check out the process step by step and you can even follow along.Man 1: The tools you're going to need for this install is an electric or regular 3/8 ratchet, needle-nose pliers, clip removal tool, a crimper, a 10-millimeter socket, and four not included male connectors. What's up guys, today we're going to be installing a set of headlights on our RAM, but before we get started you're going to watch a short video on how to uninstall your stock headlights, and I'll meet you guys back here for the install.Man 2: For this install, we are going to have to pull the grille off the front end of our truck to gain access to the headlights. You don't need a whole lot of tools to accomplish this job and I'm gonna walk you through every step of the process. So let's get started. The first step is actually going to be to remove the rad support cover. Ours is missing and all you'll need is this little clip removal tool to pop the clips out to remove that and that is going to gain you access to these four 10-millimeter bolts here at the top of the grille. So I'll use my 10-mill socket on a ratchet and pull those out. Once those bolts are removed, you can grab the grille from the front end and just give it a good pull and it should come right off.The next step is actually going to be behind the headlight, and you're gonna gain access to this through the inner fender liner. There's an access window that we can use to get to the back of the headlight. And we're gonna be feeling for this white tab here. It has a lip on the bottom of it and all we have to do is push it up to unlock it. I just need to pull the clip for the access window back, and then I can fold that back out of my way, and then I can put my hand inside and release the tab. Next, once again, using my 10-millimeter socket and ratchet, I'm gonna remove the two bolts here on the front of the headlight. That'll allow me to pull it out and unplug it from the vehicle. Now I can pull my headlight out and unplug my connectors. Just to give you a little bit of a better visual of the clip that I was referring to earlier, this is it right here and it is currently in its locked position. By pushing it up, you open up the slot here to allow the headlight to come out.Man 1: All right, guys, so there's a couple of things that we need to do before we get these installed onto the vehicle. The first step is transferring over our turn signal bulb over to our new headlight. So we're going to come over here to this bulb, and we're going to twist to your left. We're just going to transfer this over to our new bulb, new headlight. I'm just going to twist that on, have that in place. So, next step, we're going to be removing this bulb here. So, we're going to twist left to pop this cover off. Set that to the side. And we're going to twist to your left to pop this bulb out. We're going to pull up on this tab and slide our bulb out. We can transfer this over to our new headlight. We're going to pop that rubber cover off, a little bit of slack through. We'll plug our bulb in. Then we'll come down through here and get our bulb into place. Twist to your right to lock it down. And we'll put this cover back over. Now your bulbs are successfully transferred. So our next step is we're going to grab our bundle of wires. I know this is going to look a little tricky, but we're going to get through this. We're going to undo our wires from this knot. And we're going to separate our black wires to our red wires. I'm going to combine these all. These are all going to be run to our DRL. So once we have these in a little bunch, going to twist these together. It might be a little hard, so you can grab a needle-nose pliers just to twist this. Make sure it's not frayed at the end so we can slide that in. Next, you're going to grab yourself a male end connector. I'm going to slide this through. You might need to squish this down so it fits into your connector. We'll slide our connector back over, there we go. And you're going to grab a crimper, and we're going to crimp down right in this middle part. I personally like to do it on both sides so we know that it's not going to go anywhere. Give it a little test pull. So then we can set this off to the side, and we're gonna do that same thing for the negative cables. Crimp this down. Take a little tug, then you repeat this process for the other headlight, then we can get these installed onto the vehicle. So now we're over here at the vehicle, we're gonna locate our black connector. Now with these, these are previously installed onto the vehicle. So what you want to do is you want to find the black wire and the white with the orange stripe wire. And you can either use a T-tap or a female connector. So our black wire is going to be going to our black wires, so negative to negative. We're gonna plug that in and we'll grab our positive cable. We're gonna bring that over to that white and orange. Plug that in. Then we can lift this up, this orange. I mean, the black connector will be going to our turn signal and DRL. We're going to click that in. We can press in that red tab. And then our green is going to be going to this connector here. So we'll slide that in. Press on that red tab. And now when we're going to install this onto the vehicle, we're gonna make sure that this ball slides into this white tab here so that we can get this installed. Make sure all of our wires are out of the way. Now we have that in the ball, so we're going to take our long bolt, and the long bolt's going to be the one for the lower one. So we're gonna thread that into the bottom. And now that short bolt is gonna be for our top mount. Then you can grab a 10-millimeter socket and we're gonna tighten both of these down. So now you can repeat this process for the other headlight. So now we can reinstall our grille. These four tabs up top are going to sit on top of the radiator support. So we're going to line those up. We're going to make sure that this hood cable goes over those tabs. We'll get these lined up and then we'll thread these in with our large threaded bolts, which would be for the two outside ones, and the thinner threaded bolts are going to be the two for the inside. So now we'll thread those smaller threaded bolts in and our larger threaded bolts, then we'll tighten these up with our 10-millimeter socket. So now we can reinstall our plastic cover. So we're gonna line this up with the square being at open for the hood latch. It's going to sit down in place. Then we'll grab our clips and we're going to press these in. We got two more over here. And now, your install is complete. So that's gonna wrap up the review and install on our LED Halo Projector Headlights with Black Housings and Clear Lenses for your '09 to '18 RAM 1500 with Factory Halogen Non-Projector Headlights.
