Today, I'm gonna be installing Axial's smoked LED tail lights on our 2014 Ram with a 5.7 liter. Axial's replacement lights are a great option if you're looking to update the rear look of your truck with a smoked tail light. The LED tail lights are gonna keep your truck visible even in direct daylight with the ultrabright LED lights. This is a super easy plug and play install that I'll be giving one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. Expect it to take about an hour to get done. Under 350 bucks is a good price for an LED light. Most replacement LED lights start at about this price and they go up from there depending on how extensive the design is. If you're looking to save a few bucks, you could go with a more factory style replacement light. Our first step is gonna be to open your tailgate. With our tailgate down, we now have access to the two screws located here and here. They're gonna be T25 Torx bits. Just place them out of the way. We're gonna re-use them with our new light. With your two screws out of the way, now the light is just snapped in. You're just gonna wanna take your light and then pull outwards towards yourself. So now our light is just held on by the bulbs. You're gonna rotate the bulb socket to remove it from the light housing. And do the same thing for the bottom light. And we're gonna complete the same steps for the other side. Unbolt with the T25 Torx bit. And then pull the light away from the truck. Same thing for our bulbs, twist and pull away from our light. And then twist and pull. Now that we have our stock tail light off our truck, this is a good opportunity to compare to our new Axial. As you can see here, it's definitely a big difference. We have our smoked tinted lens. It's gonna be a lot darker, and it's gonna blend in a lot more. We have our LED lights up here, which are gonna last longer than a typical halogen bulb and they're gonna be a lot brighter. One of the biggest differences, we have our reflectors here and here. They are a little bit smaller than the wide reflectors here, but they are gonna be a little bit more intense. And then the reverse light is gonna be kind of the same. It uses a new reflector to be a little bit brighter, but it's gonna utilize the same halogen bulb. And our Axial light is designed to meet or exceed OEM requirements and it's gonna stay dust and moisture free for years to come. And our Axial light is a direct plug and play. We're gonna plug directly into our bulb socket and we're gonna re-use the bulb for our reverse light. Now, let's get it on the truck. Before we can install our Axial LED light, we have to remove this halogen bulb. This bulb socket is where we're gonna plug in our Axial LEDs. The socket for our reverse light is covered up by a sticker. You just wanna peel back on it to reveal the hole. And then, now with our hole in view, place your bulb into the socket and twist to lock into place. And there we go. And then we're gonna plug in our LED wire harness to our empty bulb socket. You see here it says black wire to black wire. And if you look on the wire harness for your bulb socket, you can see there's a black wire on this side. So you just wanna match up and then plug in. If the light doesn't work, you're just gonna have to reverse the plug and then it will work. And then with the wire harness plugged in, push the socket into the light, and then twist to lock into place. And then, now you can take your light, match it up with the bracket, and slide it into place. And with the light in place, screw in the T25 Torx screws we took off before. And then we're gonna complete the same steps for this side. Remove the halogen bulb. Take our new Axial light. Remove the sticker for the reverse light socket. Take your reverse light bulb, place it into the socket, and twist till it locks into place. And again, we're gonna plug in our LED wire harness into our empty bulb socket. You wanna match up the black wiring here with the black wiring on the wire harness for the socket. So then plug in till it snaps, place the bulb socket into our light housing, place it in, and twist to lock into place. With both bulb sockets installed, we can now place our light and line it up to our brackets, and then push into place. Take the same screws we took off before and tighten with the T25. After all four bolts are tightened, it's time to check your Axial lights and that's it. That wraps up my review and install of Axial's smoked LED replacement light.
