The Thermo Tec Cool-It Mat, measuring 24 inches by 50 feet, is designed to reduce heat and noise infiltration in critical vehicle areas such as the driver compartment, firewall, floorboards, doors, hoods, and transmission housings. It is ideal for automotive enthusiasts seeking to improve cabin comfort and sound insulation.
Construction And Appearance. This mat features a resin-bonded silica blanketing insulation core sandwiched between a reflective foil scrim kraft (FSK) facing and an additional foil side. The reflective FSK acts as a vapor and radiant barrier, while the foil side efficiently distributes penetrating heat. The material provides a durable, reflective surface with a thickness of approximately half an inch.
Installation. Installing the Cool-It Mat is straightforward and requires no drilling. It can be securely attached using push-in fasteners or weather strip adhesive, allowing for easy trimming and placement in various vehicle areas without additional tools.
