Justin: If you're looking for a very unique way to smoke the tail lights on your 2019 and newer RAM at home, well, then you should definitely consider adding the Carbon Fiber Look Covers that we're talking about here today. Now, these options, guys, are gonna deliver an impact-resistant acrylic build, along with that unique carbon fiber appearance offer right around the low $100 price point. All right, guys. So, I don't want you to get too hung up on that whole carbon fiber appearance thing, even though that's what the site's calling it. At my first glance here, kind of resembles more of a very light honeycomb, or screen, or mesh-type design. And the end result or purpose of these covers is to basically deliver that aggressive appearance through a lightly smoked lens. That will be your end result here. It's not screaming carbon fiber to me, but regardless, that's what you should expect, a lightly smoked appearance. Now, that appearance, again, as popular as ever, I would argue, in the truck world, certainly gonna add a more sinister appearance when done right. Now, traditionally, there are a few different ways to go about doing this. You can certainly opt for vinyl, which is no doubt the most budget-friendly way to smoke those lights, but can be a little bit tricky on the newer RAMs due to the shape or the curvature of the tail lights. Now, the other end of that spectrum, you can choose to completely replace the tail lights themselves, but obviously, that does get a bit pricey depending on what you select. So, that leaves covers like the ones we have here on the table today. It's gonna land somewhere in the middle of the vinyl and the tail light replacements in regards to cost. And I would argue the covers here will certainly be the easiest to install, thanks to that peel-and-stick design. Now, the only downside is you can kinda see the strategic placement of that Velcro, the only downside to these things, in my humble opinion, outside of that pretty big fan. Now, construction will be that thermoformed acrylic again, given that carbon fiber appearance here. Obviously, you're receiving two covers in total and along with the 3M-based Velcro, which does make for the easy installation, but also easy removal as well if you ever need to pull these things off to clean the factory tail lights, or maybe for your inspection, certainly an easy thing to do, which, by the way, is not possible if you end up going the vinyl tint method.Lots of solid reviews here on these, guys, back on the product page, along with some pretty cool customer-submitted images. As always, guys, feel free to check those out first before pulling the trigger. But now, we wanna shift gears and just show you what it takes to get these covers installed on your RAM at home. Site's gonna correctly peg this a pretty soft one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. Again, 15 minutes tops from start to finish. No real tools needed for this one, guys, as you might imagine, but cleaning products, alcohol prep pads, microfiber towel, something to ensure those tail lights are nice and clean first, that way that 3M tape would adhere properly. But now, check out this detailed walkthrough provided by an AmericanTrucks customer now.Man: Good morning. I'm going to show you how to install the GT Styling Rear Light Covers that's part number GT4275X. All right. So, the install of these is actually pretty basic. These light covers, they come with an adhesive, double-sided adhesive with a Velcro. So, you can pull off the light cover, should you want to, for whatever reason. So really, all you have to do is size everything up in step number one. Make sure that you get a good alignment. I've noticed that I like my alignment. I'm gonna start from this side and kind of work my way back when I'm fixing the adhesive to this light. So, first thing you do is you lay it out. Your second step is they provide you with alcohol wipes, and all you have to do is you wipe this down just to give it a nice clean surface for the adhesive to stick to. So, we're gonna go ahead and give that a shot. I'm gonna start with the rear right. Give you a small alcohol pad. I may need to get a larger pad. As you can see, this is almost like a posted stamp.I'm gonna clean the entire light, even though there's really only two or four points of fixture for the adhesive. So, there's four different strips of adhesive. All right. Make sure I'm getting everything here. All right. I'm gonna peel the adhesive, and I'm gonna go ahead and peel it for all four. I think once you start, you're not gonna be able to get in to peel off the adhesive. If you wanna come over this way, I'm gonna start here. I'm gonna line this side up first. Okay. Nice stick. Okay. Got that side. And you're gonna want to pay attention because the truck to your tailgate could be a little bit of an interference here. All right. Making sure I'm pushing it on here real nice. Said it takes 48 hours for this to cure. Oh, yeah. I think that's gonna go anywhere. So this time, I'm just gonna start off with a little Windex and some paper towels here to get this nice and clean using the cleaner without any oils, something that will allow the adhesive to stick. And then I'm also gonna use that alcohol pad on it as well just to make sure. So, when I did my initial fitment on this, I had the tailgate up. And I noticed how far back this lift would actually go into this channel here. And so, I found it easiest to get the alignment whenever the tailgate was open, certainly. Now, the good thing is that because this has Velcro on here, I can eventually take off these covers, and I'm gonna give that other one a better clean once that one has 48 hours to cure. So, now we're gonna fix the rear left. Get down in here. Make sure you get a good alignment. Align that there. All right. Let's fix that. I'm gonna push this where I want it. Make sure I'm paying attention to that channel like I said earlier. There we go. Nice firm pressure to fix it in the place. And there is some wiggle room. You can get some mobility out. This will actually move just a little bit, plus, you know, as I said, the Velcro will allow you to kinda get this into a little bit better position if you need to. But I think it is important to try to get it right the first time best you can. It'll just make things a lot easier. So, anyway, that is the installation of the GS Style Tail Light Covers.Justin: So, again, if you're looking for a pretty easy and affordable way to add a lightly smoked appearance to the factory tail lights of your 2019 and newer RAM at home, be sure to check out these options today right here at americantrucks.com.
