The Ridge Grappler is Nitto's newest addition to their very popular and very expansive light truck all-terrain category and promises to offer quiet and comfortable ride while on the road thanks to the new hybrid tread pattern. Now the Ridge Grappler is currently offered on the site in both 33 and 35-inch diameters and in sizes fitting 16, 17, 18 and 20-inch wheels. Price point is obviously gonna vary pretty greatly here depending on your sizing but expect to be in the low to mid $200 range for some your smaller sizing all the way up to the mid to high $300 range for some of the bigger stuff. Now if you guys weren't aware, Nitto's Grappler lineup is pretty serious and does include eight or so completely different designs ranging from your more on-road focus Dura Grappler all the way down the line to their gnarliest off-road tire, the Mud Grappler. Now the ridge here on the other hand is one of the newer additions to that lineup, and is gonna fall somewhere between the Trail Grappler on the mud terrain side and the more popular Terra Grappler in regards to aggressiveness. This is a hybrid tire so you're combining several different elements from some other popular tires. And what I mean by that is Nitto took some bits of their mud and all-terrain design but then did incorporate what they like to call their variable pitch tread pattern and that's gonna help combat some of the noise that oftentimes comes along with a more aggressive tread pattern. Now to do so, they did use advanced sound equipment to create and finalize their tread pattern and overall, that's gonna deliver a solid performance off-road but more importantly with a quiet and smooth highway ride.Diving a little bit deeper here into that tread pattern and again, the big takeaway is Nitto wanted to deliver a very aggressive looking tire for truck owners who spend most of their time on-road and therefore don't wanna sacrifice those on-road creature comforts. Now that being said, this is still a very, very good performing tire off-road. It's gonna look the part, of course, but again, it's not going to drive you crazy on the highway and still deliver pretty long life. But if we get a little bit more tech here with the grooves and tread pattern, you're gonna find what Nitto likes to call their alternating shoulder groove pattern and basically by using alternating widths and lengths in the groove pattern were itself, you're going to find a lot more bite, especially if you air this thing down a little bit more, and it's also gonna help allow the tire to clear mud and help maintain traction along with some stone injectors which is a popular thing that's built into this tire as well. But moving even further into the shoulder area, you're gonna find those staggered shoulder lugs which Nitto incorporates in the certain tires to help provide you with that off-road bite we just mentioned here, again, when you're airing this thing down, you're starting to incorporating more of that sidewall or shoulder area and these tapered edges here and that's really gonna help give you that additional bite, especially in softer materials like mud, sand or even snow. But like the rest of the grappler lineup, you do also get two different sidewall designs here which allows owners to basically control how you want the tire to look when mounted. For instance, one side gives you a more traditional appearance and lettering while the other side gives you more of a more modern or edgier font design. Again, it's really not the biggest deal as far as functionality is concerned but it is something unique here to the brand and I always like pointing that out with the grappler lineup. So in closing here, guys, if you're looking for a tire that really can do it all, it's gonna give you a really tough look along with giving you good performance off-road and most importantly a quiet on-road experience, then you'll definitely wanna check out Nitto's Ridge Grappler right here at americantrucks.com.
