      Description

      Recovery System Component. The MAXTRAX Rope Dampener is an essential safety device designed to reduce slack energy if a recovery rope or kinetic rope snaps during vehicle recovery. It is placed near the fuse shackle and weighted to limit the risk of dangerous recoil, helping to protect both equipment and personnel. This product must be used exclusively with other MAXTRAX components to ensure proper safety function.

      Construction and Appearance. The Dampener features two sleeves designed to hold weighted materials such as sand or water bottles, securely closed by folding the edges and fastening clips. It is built to be durable and compact, with packaging dimensions that allow easy transport and storage.

      Installation. Installation requires no drilling. Insert weights into the sleeves, secure the closure by folding the edges, and attach the Dampener by feeding the open MAXTRAX Fuse Shackle through the loops on both the rope Dampener and the rope loop. Position the Dampener near the Fuse Shackle in the recovery system and tighten the loop with the Fuse Shackle at 90 degrees next to the knot.
