Removal:

1) Disconnect the negative side of the battery cable. Raise the vehicle up on a hoist or rack to working height. If you do not have access to a hoist or rack raise the vehicle and support securely with jack stands.

2) Apply a generous amount of penetrating lubricant to all of the hanger mounts, clamps and slip fit connections.

3) To make the removal of the stock system easier, you may choose to cut the stock tailpipe off where it exits the muffler. This can be done using a hacksaw or sawsall. After cutting, remove the hanger at the rear of the tailpipe from the rubber mount on the vehicle and set the tailpipe aside. This step is NOT mandatory, but makes removal easier.

4) Support the muffler with a stand and remove the two hangers at the rear of the muffler along with the hangers in front of the muffler from the rubber mounts on the vehicle. Then loosen the clamp at the muffler inlet connection. Once loose, slide the muffler off of the front pipe and set aside.

Installation:

1) Place the supplied 2 ¾” clamp onto the notched end of adapter pipe #TB452S and place onto the factory inlet pipe; line up the notch in the adapter with the tab on factory pipe. Tighten the clamp securely.

2) Install clamp hanger #390HA provided in the parts kit over the adapter pipe and into the rubber mount on the vehicle. Then slide muffler #8530570-Z onto the adapter pipe and support the muffler with a stand. Tighten the clamp enough to hold, but still allow for adjustment.

3) Install the provided 3" clamp onto the muffler outlet then place tailpipe #26347S into position over the axle and slip into the muffler outlet. Connect the hangers at the front and rear of the tailpipe to the rubber mounts on the vehicle. Tighten the clamp enough to hold but still allow for adjustment.

4) Place the #ST429 stainless tip onto the end of the exit pipe and adjust to the desired position. Tighten the clamp on the tip enough to hold, but still allow for adjustment. We highly recommend tack welding the tip to the exit pipe to prevent possible slippage and loss of the tip.

5) Adjust the position of all pipes and muffler to provide a satisfactory fit. A minimum of 3/4” clearance around all parts of the system must be maintained; while also keeping suspension travel and vibration in mind. After adjustments have been made, tighten all clamped connections down securely.

6) For a cleaner appearance and more secure installation, we highly recommend welding all slipfit connections.
