These bulbs provide instant on/off illumination, enhancing visibility and offering a distinct, contemporary look for turn signaling. They plug directly into existing factory sockets without any bulb modifications, making them a convenient upgrade.
Construction and Appearance. Available in three LED options—HP48, HP11, and XP80—these bulbs feature robust designs with varying numbers of omnidirectional LEDs housed under diffusing covers to ensure evenly distributed light and a clean appearance even when off. The bulbs include molded connectors and sturdy terminals, finished in durable red to comply with SAE/DOT requirements for rear turn signals, seamlessly integrating with the vehicle’s rear lighting.
Installation. Installation of the bulbs requires no modifications and typically takes 5 to 10 minutes. A non-marring trim tool is recommended for accessing the rear light housing. To ensure proper operation and prevent hyperflashing, load resistors must be tapped into the factory turn signal wiring when used with BCM-controlled flasher systems. This wiring step is necessary and requires basic electrical knowledge, but no drilling or permanent alterations to the bulbs themselves are needed.
