Today, I'm gonna be installing Carven's Progressive Series Direct Replacement Muffler on our 2014 Ram 5.7 Liter. Carven's Direct Replacement Muffler is perfect if you're looking to get some more volume out of your stock exhaust but you don't wanna change up for a full after-market kit. It's gonna bolt up directly to where your stock muffler was located. And I'm gonna be giving one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter, and expect it to take about two hours from start to finish. Once installed, you'll be greeted with a deeper but still moderate idle. Under heavy acceleration, it will get very aggressive, but it will not drone at highway speeds. That's why I'm gonna be giving it three out of five on our "Wake the Neighbors" scale. Just under 320 bucks, it's gonna be one of the most expensive mufflers currently available for your Ram. But with the ease of the install and the quality of the materials used, I definitely think it's gonna be worth its price. The tools used for this install are a ratchet, a 15 millimeter socket, a dead blow hammer, and an exhaust hanger removal tool. So your first step is gonna be to apply some lubricant to the front hanger and the two back hangers on our muffler. It's gonna make it a bit easier to get off. Now we're gonna remove the two 15 millimeter bolts that are located in the back towards the rear of the muffler so that we can move our exhaust tips out of the way. And now we're gonna spray some lubricant on our rubber hangers to make it easier to pull out. Now I'm gonna use my exhaust hanger removal tool to remove the two hangers so that we can remove the muffler with the last clamp in the front. And now with the clamps loose and the hangers removed, we can remove the two exhaust tips away and out of the way from our muffler. Our exhaust is a little bit stuck, so I'm just gonna give it a little bit of a tap to make it move. I'm gonna pull this out and just keep it out of the way. It will stay in its hanger. Now we're gonna remove our frontmost bolt, and we're gonna be using a 15 millimeter socket, the same as the back ones. Now with our muffler lose, I'm gonna lower it down and remove it from our truck. As you can see here, we have the same outlet pipes and the same inlet pipes, we just have a much smaller muffler that's gonna allow for easier gases to go through and the increase in volume. Just under 320 bucks, it's gonna be one of the most expensive mufflers currently available for your Ram. But with the quality of the materials used and the ease of the install, I think it's definitely worth the price. This is gonna allow you to have that increase in sound but with the stock look of the dual exhaust. So now we can get this on our truck. First, we're gonna hang it onto our rubber hangers. And now we're gonna install the three-inch side first, and then we're gonna install the two and a half inch side. We're gonna slide our clamp, and then we're gonna place our new muffler over our pipe. And we're gonna use the same 15 millimeter socket we used before. And now we're gonna move to the other side. I'm gonna slide on our smaller clamps. I'm gonna take our pipe and slide it into our muffler, and then slide our clamp over and tighten. Now we're gonna use our other pipe. With everything tight, we're gonna check the length of our muffler and make sure everything is tight and out of the way. And that's gonna wrap up my review and install of Carven's Progressive Series Direct Replacement Muffler. You can check these out and more at americantrucks.com.
