So, BBK's 90-millimeter throttle body is gonna be an excellent way to get some bolt-on power without a tune requirement if you own an '03 to '12 Ram 1500 equipped with a 5.7-liter Hemi. Now, if you've been shopping around for bolt-on upgrades, you've probably seen BBK's 85-millimeter option and I would recommend that if your truck is currently bone stock and if you don't really plan on doing a lot of mods in the future. However, if you wanna get the most power out of a throttle body or you plan on doing some future mods or you plan on tuning your truck, I would definitely stick with the 90-millimeter.As you saw back on the site, BBK does advertise horsepower gains of 12 to 24 horsepower, which is honestly pretty impressive considering there is no tune requirement with this throttle body. The other reason I really like this throttle body is it is a purely bolt-on job. There's no custom modification required. You don't have to use any custom hardware. It actually reuses the four factory bolts as well as your factory O-ring if it's in good shape. So, I'm gonna go and give the install a very easy one out of three wrenches on my patented difficulty meter. So, if you want some easy bolt-on power, go ahead stick around. I'm gonna show you guys how to get this installed and I'm also gonna show you what tools you need.To install your new throttle body, you'll need the following tools, standard drive ratchet, an 8-millimeter socket, and a 10-millimeter socket. Optional but helpful tools include a long extension, an air impact, and spray lubricant. All right. So, to get to our throttle body, we have to remove some of our induction components here. I'm talking about the air assembly. We're gonna remove our factory air box. You don't need any tools for that. There's just a couple of metal clips right here that you gotta pop off. Once you've done that, you can actually loosen the intake tube using an 8-millimeter socket. You can pull off of this engine cover here. All right. Now that we have our air box and the air tube out of the way, we can remove this little engine cover/part of the air box as well. There are two 10-millimeter bolts holding it. Got my finger on one right here and there's another one just behind the oil fill cap. Once you've done that, make sure you disconnect the air intake temperature sensor right here, then you can remove the box entirely, we can expose our throttle body and get to work. All right. Now that we can access our throttle body, we can remove it from the vehicle. We're gonna disconnect the sensor for the stepper motor then we're gonna remove these four bolts here. You're gonna need an 8-millimeter socket for that. All right. Now that we have our factory throttle body removed, we're gonna be reusing this gasket right here that seals it to the intake system. Now, it is a little bit of a squeeze so you wanna pull this off, spray it down, clean it up a little bit, throw it back into the resonator box before we install the new one. Again, spray it down with a little bit of PB B'laster or WD-40 because the larger 90-millimeter throttle body makes it a little bit of a squeeze. All right. Now we can throw our new throttle body back on. You also wanna make sure that the O-ring on the intake manifold is in pretty good shape. Ours is a little old but it's still clean and it still seals up nicely so we're good there. We're gonna be reusing the four bolts that we removed earlier so you're gonna need that 8-millimeter socket. All right, now that our new throttle body's in place, you wanna make sure you plug in the stepper motor sensor. Then you can throw the resonator box back in place. You'll need to tighten down those two 10-millimeter bolts that we loosened earlier. All right, once you've got your resonator box tightened down, make sure you plug in your air intake temperature sensor. All right, once you've got that resonator box tightened down and your temperature sensor plugged back in, all you gotta do is throw back on the air tube and the top of the air filter itself. Again, you'll need an 8-millimeter socket to tighten down this clamp. All right, so once you've got your air intake tube and that box tightened down, that'll wrap up the install. That also wraps up my review of BBK's 90-millimeter throttle body fitting your '03 to '12 Hemi-equipped Ram 1500. I'm Travis. Thanks for watching.
