How to Install Airaid Jr. Intake Tube Kit w/ SynthaFlow Oiled Filter on your Dodge Ram

Component Identification


I DISCONNECT NEGATIVE (-) BATTERY CABLE

II Remove Factory Intake Assembly
A) Loosen and remove the two 10mm bolts holding on the factory intake assembly.
B) Loosen the clamp on the factory air box lid.
C) Loosen & Remove the factory clamp/coupler connecting the factory intake to the throttle body. (Save clamp/coupler for MIT installation.)
D) Disconnect the crankcase vent hose on the back of the factory air intake (2002 & 2003 models only).
E) Disconnect air temperature sensor wire on back of air intake assembly (2003- 2007 models only). See FIG#1
F) Unsnap from front of bracket and remove intake assembly.

III Airaid Modular Intake Tube Installation
A) Remove air temperature sensor and save for Airaid tube re-assembly (2003-2007 models only)
B) For 2002 models, install rubber grommet plug into the hole on the side of the Airaid tube.
C) For 2003-2007 models, install rubber grommet w/thru hole and insert the factory air temperature sensor into the grommet. See FIG#2
D) Install black hump hose on Airaid tube & factory air box and secure using the # 60 hose clamps. See FIG#3
E) Using the #56 hose clamp, slide Airaid tube into the factory throttle body coupler and secure to the throttle body. See FIG#4

IV Airaid Jr. Replacement Filter
A) If you purchased the Airaid Jr. kit, replace the factory air filter with
the Airaid Premium Filter included in the Airaid Jr. kit.

V Re-Connect Accessories
A) Re-connect air temperature sensor wire.

2002-2003 Models:
B) Using the 90° plastic elbow provided, connect the factory crankcase vent hose with the 4 ½” hose to the Airaid tube. See Fig#5
C) Secure the hose and elbow with the 3 black speed clamps provided. See Fig#5

2004 And Later Models:
D) Slide provided rubber cap over the nipple at the throttle body end of the MIT Tube. See Fig#6

E) Re-connect negative battery cable.
