No Nonsense Install Procedure. This hood scoop features a 3M automotive-grade, double-sided adhesive backing and includes a canister of polyurethane adhesive, making installation a no-nonsense, peel-and-stick process. Before installation, it is advised to thoroughly clean and dry the mounting surface first before applying the included adhesive promoter to maximize the adhesive’s effectivity. Also when mounting this scoop in cold weather to heat-up the mounting surfaces to about 60 degrees Fahrenheit using a heat gun or hairdryer. This is because the adhesive is more effective when used on warm surfaces. Finally, if you are going to paint this component to match your factory finish, it is best to do this before installation.
