It’s pretty common to turbocharge a Silverado 1500 to make the engine
more powerful and up the capabilities of the truck. Not only does it make the truck faster and more enjoyable to drive, but it gives you added pulling power for short-term pulling. The power with a turbo setup is that you often don’t know how well it’s performing or if the system is suffering from a problem. That’s why it’s so important to have proper gauges set up to let you know what is going on.
Prosport offers a series of gauges meant specifically for monitoring the vacuum pressure on a turbo setup. When installed properly, the gauges will let you know the pressure and when your turbocharger is behaving as it should. There are bright colorful gauges, and there is a solid black gauge depending on what you’re looking for.
All the gauges feature some sort of lighting so you can see the readout at night, but some feature LED lights while others come with a simpler incandescent bulb to light up the screen. No matter what type of turbo system you’re hooking up, you should be able to rely on any of the gauges installed. They are made for turbo or super charger applications and are simple to install. Add them along with the system and you’ll understand boost levels and the overall system performance each time you start driving around. That’s a good solid investment if you have a turbocharger or a supercharger, and it’s something that you’ll have to think about getting for your truck if your system doesn’t come with a vacuum gauge.
