How to Install All-Weather Floor Mats

How to Install All-Weather Floor Mats in Your Vehicle

The day your new floor mats get delivered can be an exciting time. But, don’t get overcome with ‘mat madness’ and just toss ‘em onto your floorboards! Follow these quick and easy steps first for best results.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Prepare Your Vehicle for Installation
  2. Before laying down your new mats, make sure you remove the old ones. The new liners are custom designed to be used in place of the old carpet mats—never on top of them. This guarantees not only safety but the best fit.

Get clean. Once the old mats are out, it’s a good time to vacuum and clean the carpet beneath.

Lay your new liners out on the driveway to identify which mat goes where. Remember, these mats are custom fit, so each liner is specific to a seat in your vehicle.

  3. Installation
  4. Next, locate the factory retention posts, if your car has them. If it does, your liners will have a corresponding fitment spot. Simply secure the liners over the retainers. Then work around the perimeter of the liner to get it properly seated to the edges of your floorboards.

Now, make sure the gas and brake pedals can move freely and are unobstructed by the liners—before you start driving.

Finally, adjust your seats back and forth to make sure the liners are not interfering with the seat base or sliding track rails.
