2016 Ram 2500

Last refreshed in 2014, changes made to the 2016 Ram 2500 pickup include a front assist park camera, integrated bed lighting and a re-designed center console. Alongside this, a new upscale Laramie Limited edition was produced, featuring premium black leather seating, wood trim accents and a billet front grille. Opposite to this posh addition is a new Ram 2500 4x4 off-road package, which packages a locking rear differential, transfer case skid plate, Hill Descent Control with 18" or 20" Firestone off-road tires. Max payload is 3990 lbs and towing rated at 17,980 under the 6.7L Cummins diesel. The base engine for this years' Ram 2500 continues to be the 5.7L Hemi V8, with the option to upgrade to the larger 6.4L gas Hemi or the top-level Cummins inline-six diesel.

The Ultimate Camping Machine

Bed and roof tents can turn your 2016 Ram 2500 into a very comfortable campsite when adventuring out in the woods. These two styles of integrated truck tents keep you elevated off the ground, which is good for both temperature control and water drainage. Here are the differences between the two. Bed tent: These systems are designed to use the bed and box of your Ram 2500 as a living area. Attaching atop the rails and encompassing out and down the fenders and tailgate, a bed tent is more like a protective shell versus a complete tent. They act as a roof and wall extension, leaving the bed to act as the floor of your living space. When not needed, bed tents store away easily taking up very little space. Roof top tents are the more complete tent of the two, in the sense that the floor is woven into the rest of the tent (like a regular tent). With less real estate available atop the roof, many roof top tents are actually a folding style that unfold a section out past the roof and use a secondary pole from the ground to support it. When not in use, the tent can be folded back atop the roof and stored in a weatherproof bag. However, complete removal requires significant time and some tools, as the support roof bracket system is bolted in place.

All Weather Ventilation

Wind and rain deflectors allow for all-weather cabin ventilation. Attaching to the window channel of the Ram 2500, window and rain deflectors provide an extended drip edge that allows you to have the windows cracked open during wet weather without the droplets blowing into the cabin. Further, due to their carefully sculpted form, wind and rain deflectors reduce the noise and buffeting associated with driving with a window slightly open. Lightweight pieces, wind and rain deflectors for your 2016 3/4 ton Ram are generally made using an acrylic plastic treated for UV exposure.

Hidden Added Storage

Using an underseat storage system is a great way to reclaim and organize the space under the rear bench seat (which is pretty voluminous). Thermoplastic elastomer underseat storage units are somewhat soft to the touch and feature mildly flexible walls. Pre-cut channels are available in which to install the included dividers, allowing you to compartmentalize the storage system as needed. An open top design means you simply need to flip the seat up in order to reach in and grab your equipment. For those that need more security, consider a storage box that is made of a hard plastic. Stronger and more rigid, some models come with a lockable lid that make them ideal for securely storing firearms and the like. In terms of installation, some of the less expensive options on the market rely on friction to stay in place. Higher end storage solutions anchor in place using the existing seat bolts and security bar, ensuring they won't slide or get knocked out of place.
